I certainly had a very nice time, but would like to take a second to say a big thank you for all of your continued support throughout the year. I thoroughly enjoy being a part of this community. After an indulgent Christmas, i always think that one of the best ways to start a new year is by detoxing. I have therefore put together a special deal on a detox wrap. This happy group of local youths have been busy helping others in our village ranging from cubs, charity shops, fun runs, litter picking, rabbit sanctuary, sports coaching/refereeing, homecare with the elderly, kids clubs as well as teaching scooter riding to autistic children. They all deserve a big pat on the back in recognition, encouragement and celebration of their efforts. Keep it up guys and gals. It was my pleasure to give them this Christmas treat whilst at the same time supporting a local business, The Globe on Church Road. Thank you Lloyd for your support. My daffodils, however, have taken a beating with the heavy overnight frost and are looking rather sad. Still, they were in flower long enough to give me a good positive feeling. Local Community... Bristol has made me very welcome in the few years I've been here and I happily feel at home here. You're all so kind that I like to try and involve myself in the local community to give something back wherever possible. Some of you may know that we raise money for the local charity, Paul's Place in Coalpit Heath, throughout the year. Last year we raised ?200.00. However, each Christmas I reward a select few local volunteers with a lovely warm Christmas lunch at a local business. I think it's important to recognise, thank and encourage people who help their community. This year we have decided to treat the youngsters who give their time to help others such as the elderly, less abled in the community and the children. Quite a few nominations have come in and I will have the pleasure of taking a group of them to a local pub & restaurant for a nice evening of thanks. No change really! Just wetter!! However, I thought this is a good time to check out what we are doing for our skin and general well-being now that the children are back at school and the nights are drawing in. My mantra is healthy eating, exercise and looking good. In my opinion, a good detox is the way to start both inside and out. Flush those toxins out with a reasonable detox diet (no longer than 5 days). Then continue with breakfast, lunch and dinner and a snack in between reminding ourselves to keep a check on portion sizes. A brisk walk or simply running after the kids will take care of the exercise routine unless ofcourse you enjoy visiting the gym or perhaps take on a personal trainer! A relaxing detox wrap will get rid of dead cells that make the skin look dull as it includes a good full body scrub and is thoroughly moisturising.
